Welcome to Friday,
Lovely day here in this fair City of Adelaide. There is a feeling of anticipation in the air - a long weekend - a holiday on the Monday - I'm planning a quiet time at home apart from a football lunch and watching the replay of the Grand Final from last week which was a draw.
Would love to see the Saints Come Marching In.
A nice recipe this time for cooler evenings:
Creamy Corn Chowder
· Prep: 5
· Total Time: 30
· Serves: Serves 4.
1 teaspoon
oil
3
rashers bacon, finely chopped
1 large
potato, finely diced
1 cup
vegetable or chicken stock
440g can
creamed corn
440g can
corn kernels, drained
1 cup
milk
1 cup
KRAFT* Cheddar Cheese, grated
3
spring onions
crusty bread to serve
1. HEAT oil in a large saucepan over a medium heat and cook bacon until crisp. Remove.
2. PLACE potato, stock, creamed corn, and corn kernels in the saucepan. Bring to the boil then lower heat and simmer uncovered for 15 minutes, or until potato is tender.
3. STIR in milk, cheese and spring onions until well combined and heated through. Serve immediately topped with crispy fried bacon and crusty fresh bread.
Hope you enjoy this one - I am going to try it this weekend - seems easy which is why it appeals to me.
Lots of things to inspire me today and the sound of laughter was one of them - from children in a playground to friends who shared a joke or something they thought funny.
Going to share something with you that I thought was funny.
The death of Tony Curtis brought this one up on a radio program last night.
Guy goes into Barber’s shop – says “I want a Tony Curtis Haircut.””
Barber responds with = You want a Tony Curtis Haircut – yep says the guy I do.
Sits in the chair and closes his eyes while the Barber goes to work.
Job all done – all brushed down – client opens his eyes and screams “I said a Tony Curtis haircut – don’t you know who Tony Curtis is ?
To which the Barber replied – “Sure I do – I saw him three times in the King and I.”
Hope that brought a smile to your day and that you have a weekend filled with love and laughter, special times and times of peace.
Love and hugs,
“The most wasted day of all is that during which we have not laughed.”
